PM Babis Ready to Face the Music? – Babis and Faltynek to Ask Chamber to Revoke Immunity for Prosecution

Prague, Jan 16 (CTK) – Prime Minister and ANO leader Andrej Babis and ANO first deputy head Jaroslav Faltynek will ask the Chamber of Deputies to release them for prosecution in the Capi hnizdo case of a suspected EU subsidy fraud, Babis said before a meeting of the Chamber mandate and immunity committee today.

The committee is likely to decide today on its recommendation for the lower house’s plenary session concerning the police request for their release for prosecution.

Babis reiterated that his case was politicised with the aim to oust him from top politics.

“We will ask for our release, while this has no connection with the session to debate confidence in (my) government,” Babis said.
