Hartmann-Rico Sales Drop In 2017

Veverska Bityska, South Moravia, July 30 (CTK) – Sales of Hartmann-Rico health care and hygiene products maker fell moderately to Kc4.27bn last year and profit dropped from Kc411m to Kc161m, according to the company’s annual report.

Germany is the most important market for the company whose exports contributed two thirds to the sales in 2017.

Hartmann-Rico is moving production of operation sets from Germany to three Czech plants and is looking for dozens of new employees, production director and board member Pavel Fuchs said in a press release today.

German group Hartmann produces already now most of the sets in the Czech Republic so this is a logical step, he added.

“Over 13,000 sets a day are produced here and the capacity is sufficient for the plant in Veverska Bityska to raise without problems production by another 3,000 pieces which have been made in Haidenheim thus far,” Fuchs said.

The operation sets are either tailor-made for individual hospitals and doctors or standardised. They are for single use, reducing thus the risk of infection. Interest in the sets grows both in the Czech Republic and in Western Europe.

At the end of last year, 1,500 people worked for the company in the Czech Republic.
