Prague, Aug 17 (CTK) – The Agriculture Ministry plans to reduce the amount of subsidies provided to non-profit organisations by about 40 percent from this year’s Kc140m to K80m next year, ministry spokesman Vaclav Tampir told CTK today.
Prime Minister Andrej Babis said on Wednesday the Finance Ministry should draw up an overview of all funds going to non-profit organisations.
These funds are recorded in operating expenses of individual ministries.
In the past, subsidies provided by the Agriculture Ministry to non-profit organisations grew. In 2016, they amounted to Kc27m. This year’s amount is the same as last year.
The Agriculture Ministry has also reduced its budget for events organised under its auspices. It refuses twould not provide more than Kc2m in total for such events at present, while under former minister Marian Jurecka, the average annual amount was Kc7.5m.
Economic daily Ekonomicky denik wrote last autum that Jurecka had promised to provide nearly Kc10m for events organised under the ministry’s auspices at the begining of the year.
At present the ministry would not provide more than Kc200,000 per event.
