Babis, Zeman Congratulate Biden

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš congratulated Joe Biden on Twitter on taking office as US President. Among other things, he is looking forward to developing a Czech-American strategic partnership or cooperation within the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). President Miloš Zeman also congratulated Biden. Through a spokesman for Castle on Twitter, he wished the President of the United States success in solving all the complex challenges and finding a society as a whole. Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček and Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček also congratulated Biden.

“I congratulate Joe Biden on taking office as President of the United States of America! I look forward to further developing the Czech-American strategic partnership, cooperation within NATO, and strengthening EU-US relations. I wish good luck and strength in the future,” Babiš wrote.

Zeman also congratulated Biden. “We wish success in solving all the complex challenges of the present and finding a society as a whole. We believe that the friendship and alliance between the Czech Republic and the USA will continue to develop,” said Jiří Ovčáček, the president’s spokesman, on Twitter.

According to a post on Twitter, Petříček is looking forward to working with the Biden administration to strengthen shared values and interests. He also drew attention to tackling global challenges. “I will work to make our alliance and partnership stronger than ever, between the US and the Czech Republic, as well as the entire EU,” said the head of diplomacy.

Deputy Prime Minister Hamáček also congratulated the new American president. “I believe that the new American administration will focus on what unites America with Europe and the Czech Republic, whether in the field of trade, security or climate protection,” he said on Twitter.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová also wished Biden a lot of success on Twitter. “I am convinced that good relations between the Czech Republic and the USA will continue under his rule and that he will be able to guide his country through this difficult period,” she said.

Congratulations to Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Czech Ambassador to the USA, Hynek Kmoníček, also joined the social network. “We look forward to working with the administration to deepen the US-Czech alliance and friendship, to cooperate on matters of common interest, and to deepen common values,” he wrote.

Democrat Joe Biden took the oath of office today, from US Supreme Court President John Roberts, to become the 46th President of the United States. Shortly before that, Harris, the first vice president in US history, also officially took office.
