Billionaire Babis Tops Forbes List: Remains Richest Slovak

Bratislava, May 2 (CTK correspondent) – Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, who was born in Bratislava, remains the richest Slovak, according to the latest chart of the world’s richest people published by Forbes magazine.

 

Babis’s assets reached EUR3.39bn (Kc86.8bn) last year, the same amount as the year before.

 

Babis transferred his agricultural and food group Agrofert to trust funds in the Czech Republic owing to the law on conflict of interest last year.

 

Ivan Chrenko, the co-founder of developer group HB Reavis, came second with a huge margin after Babis. His assets increased by EUR30m to EUR1.13bn last year, according to Forbes.

 

Financial group Penta’s co-owner Jaroslav Hascak kept the third position with assets worth EUR830m, which was an annual rise of 12 percent.

 

The top ten richest Slovaks also include paperworks Mondi SCP co-owner Milan Filo, the founders of antivirus software company Este and the co-owners of financial group J&T.
