Prague, July 3 (CTK) – CEZ energy group was behind the growth of the Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP), and the headline PX index closed today’s trading session 0.52 percent stronger at 1,076.02 points, the bourse said on its website.
Czech banks Moneta Money Bank and Komercni banka were doing well, while Austria’s Erste Bank, drinks group Kofola and cigarette maker Philip Morris CR were all in the red today.
Trading activity was low.
CEZ, the most traded share today, was the market’s driver for a third straight day today. The stock appreciated by 1.2 percent to Kc550 per unit.
In the financial sector, Moneta Money Bank was the best performer, improving by 1.03 percent to Kc78.4. “Speculations about a possible acquisition by Raiffeisenbank can be behind its rise,” said Komercni banka analyst Jiri Kostka.
Komercni banka posted a rise of 0.85 percent to Kc952.50 and Austrian insurer VIG rose by 0.83 percent to Kc608 apiece.
Conversely, Erste Bank sank by 0.65 percent to Kc914.
Kofola went down by 0.98 percent to Kc304.
Philip Morris CR fell by 0.92 percent to Kc15,120 apiece.
