Daniel Kretinsky’s Czech Media Invest is backing a new business news Channel BSmart TV in France. CMI France will provide an investment of five million euros in the network, French media reports.
The business news station will have only about 25 employees. The network’s founder, Stephane Soumier, says it will defend freedom of enterprise and liberal values. It will broadcast seven hours of premiere programs daily, supplemented by reruns. The network’s target audience is top business managers and entrepreneurs with little free time. The news channel will be available for free supported by advertisements and sponsorship messages.
BSmart estimates it will be profitable within three years, and it will be satisfied with tens of thousands of viewers. It will start broadcasting in April.
