The scandals continue in the lower house, Czech police have presented the Chamber of Deputies with another request to strip one of their own of immunity.
The latest request involves former Prague Mayor and deputy Bohuslav Svoboda. Police are pursuing criminal prosecution of the former mayor over his involvement in the city’s Opencard.
Svoboda was charged previously with misuse of public funds and violation of the law on public tenders. The smart card deal was very unfavorable for Prague.
Svoboda received a suspended two-year sentence and filed an appeal just before obtaining parliamentary immunity in the elections.
