Microsoft s.r.o., the company’s Czech subsidiary profits grew by four percent to CZK 176 million in the fiscal year ending June 30.
Revenues fell by 4 percent to CZK 1.78 billion. The subsidiary remits all profits to the parent company Microsoft in Redmond.
Cloud services, which include Office 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365, accounted for more than a quarter of the revenue. Data processing, which connects traditional and cloud-based solutions, was a significant contributor to growth, Microsoft said.
The Windows operating system is installed on 96 percent of computers. According to the company, the share of Windows 10 is growing, thanks to security innovations and the end of Windows 7 support.
Czech Microsoft had 314 employees in the middle of last year. The company spent CZK 696.5 million on wages. Of this, CZK 62.2 million went to management.
Microsoft’s 2nd quarter net profits increased by 38 percent to $11.65 billion (CZK 267 billion). The company’s revenue grew 14 percent to $36.91 billion in the quarter ending December 31.
Microsoft is the world’s largest computer software manufacturer.
