Petr Kellner Tops List Of Wealthiest Czechs, Babis Drops To 4th

Euro.cz has published a preview of this years richest Czechs and Slovaks. And the rankings have shifted over the past year.

 

Petr Kellner remains the richest Czech.  Andrej Babis, no longer in second place, due to declining profitability and growing debt of Agrofert, finds himself in fourth, overtaken by Radovan Vítek and Karel Komarek. Just behind Babis finishing fifth is Daniel Kretinsky.

 

According to the weekly, the top 50 businessmen currently control assets worth CZK1.32tn (€51bn), which is by CZK125bn (€4.8bn) more than in the 2018 ranking. Overall, the value of the top 50 increased by more than 10% over the past year.

 

One new name appeared in the ranking of the fifty richest Czechs and Slovaks: Martin Hajek, the majority owner of Livesport. The Prague technology company focused on sports news has a global reach and is highly profitable. Hájek’s estimated worth of CZK 8.5 billion based on the little available information.
