Police Lied: Slovak Anti-Corruption Head Entered Jan Kuciak Murder Scene

Bratislava, March 6 (CTK) – The Slovak police confirmed today that head of the anti-corruption unit Robert Krajmer, who is being connected with “oligarch” Norbert Bodor, a brother-in-law of Police President Tibor Gaspar, was on the scene of the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak and his girlfriend.

Gaspar himself said on Monday Krajmer had not entered the scene of the act.

“Gaspar was telling lies,” Igor Matovic, leader of the opposition Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OLaNO), said.

On Monday, OLaNO questioned the credibility of the police investigation just due to Krajmer having been on the scene of the murder, saying that Kuciak wrote three large articles about Bodor.

The television station Joj has released a video recording confirming Krajmer’s having entered the courtyard of Kuciak’s house.

The police command said Krajmer had fulfilled “the tasks connected with the investigation into this crime” on the scene of the murder, but it did not elaborate.

In his last, unfinished article, Kuciak described the activities of Italian businesspeople linked to mafia in eastern Slovakia, and also their alleged ties with Prime Minister Robert Fico’s aides. Two of them have resigned pending the outcome of the investigation.

The case has rocked Fico’s government. President Andrej Kiska demands either an early election or a government reshuffle, which was rejected by Fico.
