Seznam.cz increased sales by 4.7 percent to CZK 4.69 billion in 2019. Profit before tax was around CZK 1.4 billion, which is 12 percent less year-on-year.
The Sklik advertising system, which grew 15 percent, contributed to the year-on-year sales growth.
Last year, the company focused on a homepage with a search engine and personalized content. The homepage includes a feed with links to news sites, of which there are currently around 300.
Mapy.cz started cooperating with Booking.com, and Apple smartphone users were able to travel with them thanks to CarPlay support. Several services have also been redesigned, such as Weather.cz, News List, and Browser, currently used by more than 1.5 million unique users on all platforms. Over 1.2 million people downloaded it to their mobile phones last year. The calendar function was added to the e-mail app.
At the beginning of 2019, after purchasing a 100 percent stake, it became part of the List of Regional Radios Expres FM and Classic Prague.
The trend of increased content consumption on the home page of the Czech internet leader is also evident this year and culminated during the coronavirus epidemic. In March this year, it grew by 60 percent year on year to 228 million clicks.
During the coronavirus emergency, Seznam.cz increased traffic to its homepage and individual content services.
