The Czech Republic had the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union in June, at 1.9%. Germany came in second with a rate of 3.1%.<\/p>\n

According to Eurostat, all of the countries of emerging Europe boasted unemployment rates lower than the EU average of 6.3%, except Latvia, where 6.5% were unemployed. The region\u2019s best performers aside from the Czech Republic were Hungary (3.4%), Poland (3.8%) and Romania (4%).<\/p>\n

Greece had the highest unemployment in the EU, at 17.6%.<\/p>\n
