Zeman Meets With Culture Minister Nominee Zaoralek

President Milos Zeman met with Culture Minister nominee Lubomir Zaoralek (CSSD) at Lany Castle today over wine and pastries.

President Zeman’s spokesperson Jiri Ovcacek told reporters after the meeting that Zeman will appoint Zaoralek minister on Tuesday.

Zaoralek told reporters that he would initiate proceedings to find a new director of the National Gallery in Prague. His predecessor Antonin Stanek fired the director at the end of his term.

In the past, Zaorálek was one of Zeman’s close allies, but later their relationship cooled. Zaoralek’s was among those who did not support Zeman’s election to head of state in 2003.
