Prague, Sept 18 (CTK) – President Milos Zeman will be the first representative of the Czech Republic to deliver a speech in the Israeli parliament Knesset during his November visit to the country, Rudolf Jindrak, the head of the Presidential Office foreign affairs department, confirmed to CTK today.

Zeman will open the Czech House in Jerusalem, a seat of the CzechTrade and CzechTourism agencies, in which cultural events will be staged, too.

During his visit to Israel, Zeman will attend a reception that will commemorate the Czech national holiday.

According to diplomats, this will be the first state reception to be held on Israel’s territory of Jerusalem.

Jindrak said Zeman would leave for Israel on November 25 and stay in the country until November 28 or 29.

He will be accompanied by a large business delegation.

Zeman is scheduled to meet his Israeli counterpart Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Zeman will be accompanied by several Czech government members.

Zeman openly supports Israel and he has pleaded for the transfer of the Czech embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The opening of the Czech House in Jerusalem will be the first step in this direction, Czech senior officials said at their joint meeting last week.

There will be a ceremony, to which 300-400 people have been invited.

This year, Zeman will also visit Germany, to which he will fly on Wednesday, and China, for which he will leave on November 3.
