Prague, July 9 (CTK) – Economia publisher generated a consolidated profit of Kc1.8m last year, with sales adding 4 percent to Kc878.6m, while a year earlier it was in the red, its loss at nearly Kc20m, Economia said in the annual report.
Digital products development is its priority this year.
Sales of newspapers and magazines brought in Kc176.7m, going down by 3 percent annually. Advertising and other services’ revenue increased by Kc38m yr/yr to Kc661.7m.
Staff numbers grew by 10 to 433 people. Wage costs were nearly Kc8m higher at Kc354m.
Economia, which is owned by financier Zdenek Bakala, operates news servers IHNED.cz and Aktualne.cz and portals Atlas.cz and Volny.cz. It publishes business daily Hospodarske noviny, weeklies Ekonom and Respekt, and some professional journals.
