Hyundai Nošovice Begins Production Of Kona Electric

Hyundai launched the production of its Kona Electric cars at its Nošovice plant this week. It will be the first electric car produced in the Czech Republic.

The Nosovice plant will produce Kona Electric cars for Germany, France, the Netherlands, Norway, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. The factory will produce 30,000 Kona’s this year.

Last year, the Nosovice plant manufactured 309,500 cars, which represented a year-on-year decline of 9 percent. The factory is the only Hyundai plant in the European Union. It employs approximately 3,300 people.

Nošovice produces the Hyundai Tucson and five versions of the Hyundai i30.
