Revenues Of Czech Top 100 Companies Surpass CZK 3T

Škoda Auto tops the Czech Top 100 associations list of the top 100 companies in 2019 with revenues of CZK 459.1 billion. Daniel Kretinsky’s Energetický, a průmyslový holding (EPH), is second with revenues of CZK 230 billion. And CEZ rounds out the top three with reported revenues of CZK 206.2 billion.

The Taiwanese company Foxconn CZ made it into the top five companies, generating revenues of CZK 152.4 billion last year. It thus finished in fifth place just behind the fourth Agrofert with revenues of CZK 162 billion. The top ten also includes Unipetrol, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech, Alpiq Energy SE, Moravia Steel, and Continental Barum.

The sum of last year’s sales of the ten largest companies from the Czech Top 100 ranking is CZK 1.689 trillion. That is 184 billion more than in 2018. In 2009, when the economic crisis broke out in the Czech Republic, the top ten companies had total sales of CZK 921.3 billion. In ten years, therefore, sales increased by more than 80 percent.

While the Czech Republic’s gross domestic product reached CZK 5.749 trillion last year, the 100 largest companies in the Czech Top 100 generated revenues of CZK 3.464 trillion in the same period.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the evaluation of companies’ was delayed. The results for 2019 were not affected by the epidemic. Many of the companies surpassed their record sales of 2018. However, in 2020 companies’ results are expected to deteriorate sharply, which may upend the entire list.
