Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) has once again extended its production shutdown due to coronavirus. Production should resume on May 18.
“Due to the acceleration of coronavirus in different European countries or regions and its impact on public health, the economy and society, TPCA has decided to extend the suspension period,” TCPA said.
Production at the Cologne car plant stopped on March 18. The coronavirus closure coincided with a planned technological shutdown. Employees will receive 85 percent of their salary.
TPCA employs about 2,500 people, making it the largest employer in the Kolin region. The company is alos is one of the largest exporters in the Czech Republic.
