J&T Thein Acquires H-Square ICT Solutions

The J&T Thein investment fund, owned by former O2 executive Tomáš Budník, continues its acquistion spree with the acquisition of the Czech security company H-Square ICT Solutions. It offers solutions using the technology of the American Palo Alto Networks.

H-Square was founded in 2015 by Jan Pinta. It focuses on the protection of corporate networks and end stations or e-mail and cloud security. Today’s clients include T-Mobile, Notino, Čeps and Czech Radio. Thein Fund already owns the company net.pointers, which focuses on protection against leaks of sensitive data and defense against sophisticated cyber attacks.

“By combining H-Square and net.pointers, we are becoming the most important partner of Palo Alto Networks in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We significantly strengthen our competencies in the area of network security, secure access, cloud security and automation of security incident processing. We want to make the most of the technological potential of Palo Alto Networks and offer these solutions to our corporate customers as well as to the state administration and security forces, “said Martin Půlpán, head of Thein’s security division.

The J&T Thein SICAV focuses on investments in technology companies in the field of ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity and application development for cloud solutions in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The fund was created in partnership with technology expert Tomáš Budník, who is the majority owner of the fund with 65 percent, and J&T Private Equity Group, which owns 35 percent. The fund was established in October 2020. In addition to net.pointers, its portfolio includes the companies Network, Aitcom or companies belonging to the C SYSTEM CZ group.
