Vesa Equity Appoints New Management Team

The Board of Directors of EP Global Commerce and VESA Equity Investment have created a dedicated management team for both companies. The move comes in response to significant growth in capital investment outside the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Roman Silha is the new Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at EPCG and VESA. Branislav Miškovic and Brendan Massam, also play new roles in the group.

Roman Silha Head of M&A EPGC & VESA

Mr. Silha has more than 25 years of experience in investment and corporate banking. From 2007 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of CAIB Czech Republic & Slovakia. In 2010, he joined UniCredit Bank as Director of Large Corporate Clients, and from 2015 he held the position of Director of Corporate and Commercial Banking for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He has spent the last two years in Vienna as Chief Strategic Advisor to UniCredit’s Director of Corporate, Investment and Private Banking for Central and Eastern Europe. In his new role, he will be responsible for strategy and corporate development of existing investments in the portfolio of EPGC and VESA and the search and execution of new investment opportunities.

Brendan Massam CFO EPGC & VESA

Brendan Massam was appointed CFO of EPGC and VESA. Before that, he was CFO of EP Power Europe and served as CEO of the Leveraged Finance team at JP Morgan in London and Deutsche Bank in London, New York, and Singapore.

Branislav Miskovic Investment Director VESA

The third member of the newly formed team is Branislav Miskovic. He was appointed investment director of VESA. Mr. Miskovic is a member of the Boards of Directors of Mall Group and Czech Media Invest, including selected subsidiaries. Since 2013, he is a member of the M&A team of EPH. Before joining EPH, he spent three years at J.P Morgan in London and had several internships with Google.

Vesa Equity Investment

VESA Equity Investment holds non-controlling interests in several publicly listed companies, including Casino GuichardPerrachon, Macy’s, Royal Mail Group, and Foot Locker. VESA also provides support to Czech Media Invest in managing its stake in ProSiebenSat.1.

EP Global Commerce

EP Global Commerce owns a 29.9 percent stake in Metro AG, which operates a food chain with over 700 branches worldwide. EP Global Commerce is the largest shareholder in Metro AG.

Daniel Kretinsky founded EPGC and VESA and has a controlling stake with 53 percent ownership. His business partner Patrik Tkac has a 47 percent ownership interest.
